I first fell in love with film with The Lord of the Rings, around 10 years old. I was fascinated by the camera techniques, landscape footage, and special effects. To this day, I can recite fascinating facts about the production of each movie in detail. As I grew older, I expanded my knowledge of how movies succeed in storytelling. I fell in love with the behind the scenes of the movie industry.

It wasn't until college that I discovered that I loved editing. By pure chance, I landed in an English class that specialized in film studies. My first real assignment in editing was making a movie trailer about a film, but changing the genre entirely. My teammates and I turned The Lord of the Rings into a love story between Frodo and Sam. The endless potential of telling stories enthralled me. It was at that point that I knew where I belonged in the movie industry.

For one assignment in school, I was challenged to turn a MSNBC argument against the Confederate flag into a argument for it. I was alarmed at how easily the truth of news can be altered or attacked, and I vowed to pursue the truth with my editing. In my opinion, misinformation and ignorance are the most dangerous factors in America right now. I intend to be authentic, informative, and truthful in all my efforts of storytelling.

As an editor, I've made documentaries, promos, short fiction films, and assisted in many other ventures in the different genres of the media industry.
